Washington Convention Center
Just two blocks from 1101 New York Avenue at Mt. Vernon Square, the Convention Center opened in 2003, hosting nearly one million visitors and generating $426.5 million in delegate spending in its first year.

Proposed Redevelopment
A critical part of the revitalization of the downtown core involves the old Washington Convention Center site, which is scheduled for redevelopment into a mixed-use project.

Proposed plans for the 10.5-acre site include:
Approximately 775 apartments and condos
250,000 to 300,000 square feet of retail space
1,200 parking spaces
Two-way traffic on reopened 10th Street
One-acre public park

Convenient Transportation
There are three Metro stations within three blocks of 1101 New York Avenue with connections to all five Metrorail lines that link much of the city and suburbs of Virginia and Maryland.

Union Station is nearby. In addition to Amtrak trains that run along the Northeast Corridor, the station is also served by Virginia and Maryland commuter train service.
